THE ELDIC STONE

By Herbert Jerry Baker

Far from the lands of man, beyond the fields we know,

Lost in the dead barren Wastes, lies the Eldic Stone—

For long unnumbered aeons had it lain in time-forgot realms

Lost to the memory of Man—lost til the coming of YeNan.

Into the empty barren Wastes rode the legended wizard

To search for this remnant of the fabled Old Ones—

His mystic quest was of the greatest success,

For as he returned to Zaron, with him was The Stone.

YeNan’s crimson-blazoned towers soon held The Eldic Stone,

And soon the mage was chanting upon dark and starless nights.

His voice cried out to Those whom Man had long forgotten,

Til at last his chants and spells were answered.

Long and loud rumbled the thunder as a great storm fell

Upon the towers of YeNan which held The Eldic Stone.

Ere came the dawn o’er the land, the towers were no more,

And the body of YeNan lay rent asunder upon the ground!!

Far from the lands of Man, lies The Eldic Stone….
