Lafayette Flute Choir |
The Lafayette Flute Choir, Inc. is composed of musicians who share a common interest in ensemble flute playing. The choir was founded in 1974, incorporated in 1978, and is currently directed by Harriet Coppoc, a Lafayette flutist. The LFC has given many recitals for multiple flutes and performed for churches, weddings and community events in the Tippecanoe Arts Federation region. We also get together several times a year for Flute Flings, an evening spent reading flute ensemble music. The choir performs a wide range of music repertoire, with pieces written for it from the 18th to the 21st centuries and arrangements of all kinds of music from baroque to jazz. Flutists in our choir use the entire flute family including the standard C flute, alto flutes in the key of G, bass flutes and, of course, the piccolo. Choir membership is open to upper level high school students and adults who love to play the flute. Contact Harriet Coppoc (765-464-2949) for membership information.
