Fall 2008 Class ScheduleCHILDREN’S CLASSES: Drawing Magic, Come discover the Magic of Art!Mondays – grades 1-4 4:30-5:30Tuesdays – grades 4-8 4:30-5:30Wednesdays – grades 1-4 4:30-5:30Have you ever wanted to be able to draw so that objects look “right”? Would you like to learn the tricks that give an object volume? We will be exploring a variety of techniques that will make realistic drawings achievable. Discover the Magic of Art! $84/6 week session including supplies This session we will draw a variety of subjects, some from life- the object will be in front of you- and some from photographs. Come see what you can create! Mixed media and collage are incorporated. Classes begin September 15 and run through Oct 22. Medieval Fantasy ! $84/6 week session including supplies Castles, Carriages, Horses, Princesses, Knights and Dragons.... Pick you favorites as we create another time in history. Watercolor Mondays 10am-12:30 pm, 6:30-8:30 pm $95 for museum members, $105 for non-members To register contact Lorie Amick at 463-2575 or lorieamick@comcast.netFor all levels. This class is for anyone who would like to venture into the wonderful world of watercolors. Students are given a brief introduction to various technical aspects of watercolor, including paper types, brush types, and characteristics of different pigments. Students paint from still life set-ups and are encouraged to bring in their own objects. Each class meeting has a different emphasis, such as composition, color theory, use of value and different painting techniques, adjusted based on the needs of the class. Classes do not have to be consecutive; students are given a punch card for 6 sessions to be used within 6 months.
Mondays with Bob Mondays 1-3 pm $10/hour To register contact Bob Heger at 497-0065. Bob Heger holds an “open studio” session for any student interested in working with pastels, oils, or drawing – nearly any 2-D medium but watercolor.
Adult Ceramics Mondays, 6-9pm $110 for museum members, $125 for non museum members - includes 215 lbs. of clay To register contact Jenny Rabanus at 449-2707 or josh.jenrabanus@verizon.net For all levels. Learn the basics of working with clay and using the potter’s wheel. Students will create ceramic pieces that are functional as well as beautiful. Eight sessions; class is continuous so students may begin at any time.

Called “everyman’s art, “because everyone used to write this way. Students begin with markers, then advance to dip pens, fountain pens, and brushes. Please bring a small pad of tracing paper. Other materials needed in class will be provided. Projects include: envelope lettering, poetry, scrapbooks.
GUILDS Tuesday Painters Come join this diverse group of painters ranging from novice to experienced artist. Get to know your fellow painters during the lunch break at a different local eatery each week! TUESDAYS, 9 AM - 3 PM - Fees split amongst participants
