Materials list for figure workshop with Susan Doster……………..11/07/09

Painting surface:

11” X 14” or 12” X 16” canvas or canvas panel… Please tone allover with wash of diluted earth red color. Dilute with turpentine for oils, with water for acrylics.

Oil or acrylic paint:

--1 tube white paint (titanium white or lead white)

--1 tube earth red paint (recommended just one of the following colors: red oxide, venetian red, terra rosa, English red, burnt sienna)

--1 tube black (ivory or mars)

Brushes:

Filbert-shaped brush, approx 3/8” wide

Round-shaped brush, small number 00,0, or 1

Use bristle brushes for oils, or synthetic brushes for acrylics.

Liquid:

Pure gum turpentine plus small jar for oils, or small container to hold water for acrylics.

Mixing:

Palette and palette knife

Rags or paper towels
