Here is her story as passed on by Stacey, Emily and Hannah Smith. Check back from time to time for the latest information. Our 2003 family reunion took place on a rainy August 31, 2003 Sunday afternoon. Around 70 people attended. Most seemed to have a good time. People started gathering shortly before noon with most people there by 1:00 PM and most stayed till after 5:00 PM, with the party breaking up shortly before 7:00 PM. 2 family friends were invited. Jeanette Bennett and Rick Morrissey also attended. The weather was rainy, but everyone was warm, friendly and feed. Check the photo album for a few pictures. After all of these years, it was discovered that Curt Shields (spouse of Pauline Doppelfeld) is related to the Metzinger's (and Clark sisters) via the Funk family. With the rain, we didn't copy historical family photos. If you have historical family photos, please send scanned files or copies of the photos to Doug Shields. Current Events We plan to put together an online family photo album, and genealogy research. Please forward anything you have to contribute to Doug Shields (electronic format preferred). You keep the original. We would like to restart the genealogy book. Please keep us informed of family changes. Watch for more information at this location. We are compiling a contact list to be shared with the cousins. Please contact Doug Shields with updates to your address, phone number or email address. A copy of the latest contact information will be provided to cousins and ancestors upon request. General Information The committee started as the oldest local child of child. If you would like to be involved, PLEASE let us know. The initial suggestion is to hold a reunion every 2 years.
