An Ode to all Daydreamers

By Michael Lohr

Walking down a quiet country road
I feel the ghosts of those that came before me
But I am not afraid,
For I walk in the footsteps of Merlin and Taliesin,
In the magic of the day.
A gentle summer breeze upon my face,
The smell of honeysuckle drifts in the morning air,
And a spider-web still shimmers with dew,
For the sun has only just begun to dance
Upon the glistening leaves of the forest green.
It is here,
In places like this,
That you can feel the spark of wonder,
And pretend
To watch for dragons as they fly,
And to find the rainbow's end.
For the ember of magic is always within you,
Of this you must never forget,
All you need to do is believe.
