Doppelfeld Family Reunion
Sunday September 4, 2005
Noon to 7 PM
Eat at 1:00 PM
Tippecanoe County’s Ross Hills Park
Sullivan Shelter

The cousins are being invited and we ask you to invite your ancestors and descendants. That means the cousins are putting this on. We are inviting the cousins and letting you invite parents, kids, grandkids, great grandkids, etc. I am not sure I have accurate contact information for everyone, so please make sure you siblings got their invitation.

Please bring
  • your own drinks, cups
  • lawn chairs
  • a salad or dessert to share
  • Please bring family photos. We would like to see photos of grandma and grandpa Doppelfeld, aunts and uncles (moms and dads) and family through the years. We would like to take digital pictures or your photos at the reunion (this will take a few seconds and you take them back home with you).

Bob Metzinger is coordinating a meal of roasted hog, baked beans and scalloped potatoes for $5 a person. Or you may bring a picnic lunch. Eat at 1:00 PM

Terry Lucterhand has 3 tee times reserved at The Ravines for 8:00/8:08/8:16. This is enough for 12 players. The cost is $36.00/player. Please notify Terry by email terry@lafayetteprinting.com (probably the best), call at Lafayette Printing (765-423-2578), or at home (765-474-6602) Before August 25 if you want to play golf.

Ross Hills Park: 169.21 acres. Facilities: rest rooms, trails, deck overlook, volleyball, softball, horseshoes, 18 pole Frisbee disk golf course, geocache.
Sullivan Shelter has Volleyball and Horseshoe courts near by. You can bring horseshoes, volleyball, crocket, etc.

Directions to Ross Hills Park

Ross Hills is located about twenty-five minutes from Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County. To get there from the interstate, take State Route 43 southwest. In five miles, you will reach West Lafayette where State Route 43 will become River Road. Stay on River Road and drive straight through all of the stoplights in town.

One mile past the State Street stoplight (McDonald’s on right), there will be another stoplight where River Road splits off the main highway to the right. Turn right (if you cross the river, you missed your turn)
and then immediately turn left to stay on River Road. You have about 8.5 miles to Ross Hills Park. Follow the signs for Fort Quiatenon and South River Road.

When you pass Fort Quiatenon (on your left), you are halfway there! About five miles out of West Lafayette, River Road merges with Division Road (Stay on the asphalt) (The raod signs will be mixed).

When you reach The Ravines golf course, the road will make an S turn, then turn left on County Road 875 W.,

that runs through middle of Ravines Golf Course, then makes sharp curve to right.

A few feet after the sharp Right hand turn, turn left in to the entrance to Ross Hills Park.

In the park, follow the road past the One Way Do Not Enter sign and turn left at the next drive. Follow the drive almost all of the way around to Sullivan Shelter.

Please let us know ASAP the best guess at the following, so we can have plan appropriately. (telling us a 75% chance that X number will attend helps)

# Cost Total
Pork, Scalloped potatoes, beans meal $5, Golf Tee Times $36, and/or be there $priceless$.
